Jewel Heist Cracked: Two Gang Members Caught in Chandanagar
HYDERABAD, India – August 16, 2025: Big news! Cyberabad police nailed two guys from a gang that robbed a jewelry store in Chandanagar in broad daylight. Earlier this week, masked dudes stormed the place, shot a worker, and ran off with a load of silver. The arrests, made by some super-dedicated detectives, got some of the silver back and gave police a good look at how these guys planned the whole thing.
The suspects are Aashish Kumar Singh (22) and Deepak Kumar Sah (22), both from Bihar. Cops say these two are part of a seven-person crew that spent time cooking up this robbery. Now, the hunt is on for the other five, who are thought to be out of state.
Ten Minutes of Chaos
The robbery went down on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, around 10:30 a.m. at Khazana Jewellers, right on National Highway 65. Six masked guys with guns burst into the store while the staff was getting ready for the day.
They took control, pointed guns, and demanded the safe keys. When the staff said the manager with the second key wasn’t there yet, the robbers got violent. They shot the deputy manager, Satish Kumar, in the knee, and he went down.
Since they couldn’t get into the main safe (needed two keys, remember?), they grabbed what they could. Silver jewelry in the display cases was the main target. It was all over fast. The gang grabbed the loot and ran off on foot, jumping on scooters parked close.
Stolen Goods and How They Operated
The stolen stuff was initially said to be worth around ₹10 lakh. Mostly, it was 10 kg of silver jewelry, some with a gold coat on it. The fact that they only grabbed silver and not the expensive gold says they were in a rush, probably because they couldn’t crack the safe.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty said the gang from Bihar had been in Hyderabad for about a month, getting ready for the robbery. Deepak Kumar Sah, who worked as a welder, helped them rent a hideout in Jeedimetla. They also picked up two used bikes for a quick getaway.
These guys were careful. They checked out a few jewelry stores before picking Khazana Jewellers, likely because of its location and what they thought was weak security. The plan was simple: get in, threaten people, grab stuff, and run. But the manager being late threw a wrench in their plans for the gold.
The Chase and the Arrests
After the robbery, Cyberabad Police formed 11 teams to solve the case. They looked at over 200 CCTV feeds from the area, putting together how the robbers got away.
The first break came when they found Aashish Kumar Singh in a remote spot in Maharashtra. Teaming up with Maharashtra police, the Cyberabad team arrested him. He confessed and told them where his buddies were hiding.
Acting on Singh’s info, police tracked down Deepak Kumar Sah in Hyderabad. These arrests are a big deal, getting some of the stolen stuff back and exposing a criminal network.
The Goods Recovered and What’s Next
During the arrests, police got back about 900 grams of the silver jewelry. They also found the 7.62 mm pistol used in the store. Finding the weapon is huge for the case.
Police are pretty sure they’ll catch the other five soon. They’ve sent descriptions to police forces in other states and have a solid lead to follow. They’re also looking into if this gang is connected to other robberies around the country.
DCP (Madhapur) Dr. G. Vineeth told jewelry store owners to up their security. He said these robbers were pros who knew what they were doing. He suggested better cameras, trained security, and making sure all entrances are strong.
The Khazana Jewellers incident is a reminder that criminals are getting more advanced. But the Cyberabad police showed that with a quick, detailed response, these guys can be caught, no matter how far they run. The hunt for the remaining five is on, but catching two key guys has already made the community feel safer.
