“Save Me”: Woman’s Chilling Last Text to Boyfriend Precedes Alleged Gujarat “Honor Killing”
AHMEDABAD, India – August 14, 2025:A scary case of what looks like an honor killing happened in Gujarat. An 18-year-old woman who just passed her NEET exam was murdered. Her father was arrested because they think he killed her for dating someone the family didn’t like. This awful crime happened in Banaskantha. It came out after the woman’s boyfriend gave the police a text she sent him right before she died. She begged him to come and save me, or my family will kill me.
A Really Sad Plea
Police say the woman, Chandrika, was living with a guy named Harish Chaudhary. Her family was totally against it and was trying to force her to marry someone else. On June 24, just hours before she was killed, Chandrika sent Chaudhary a bunch of texts saying she was in danger.
One text said, “Come get me, or my family will marry me off against my will.” If I say no, they’ll kill me. Sadly, Chaudhary was in jail at the time and couldn’t read the texts.
How the Murder Was Planned
The family tried to make it seem like she died naturally, but investigators say it was planned. Police officer Suman Nala said they had a three-part plan. First, Chandrika’s uncle, Shivrambhai Patel, gave her milk with sleeping pills in it at a relative’s house in Dantiya village.
The police report says that after she passed out, her father, Sendhabhai Patel, and uncle choked her. Then, to hide what they did, they tried to make it look like she killed herself. They burned her body the next morning without telling other family or the police.

The Truth Comes Out
The police started looking into it after Chaudhary got out of jail and told them he thought something was wrong. He thought it was weird that the family cremated her so fast and didn’t tell anyone about her death. ASP Nala said they started an investigation after noticing things that didn’t add up.
The police figured out that the family killed her to stop her from running away with Chaudhary again. The family had found them in Rajasthan before and dragged her back home. Chaudhary’s lawyer filed a court petition, and the family supposedly decided to do something extreme to end the problem.
Arrests and Investigation
The police arrested Chandrika’s uncle, Shivrambhai Patel, and another relative. Her father, Sendhabhai Patel, who they think is the main culprit, is still on the run. The police are searching for him.
This case has put a spotlight on honor killings in the area. Family values and old-fashioned beliefs are clashing with what young people want for their lives. It’s even sadder because the woman was a smart student with dreams of being a doctor.
