MUMBAI, India—June 28, 2025: The actress and model Shefali Jariwala, popularly known as the “Kaanta Laga Girl,” is reported dead at 42. She allegedly suffered cardiac arrest on June 27, and her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, and three others rushed her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
Sudden Death Rocks the Industry
Shefali’s sudden and untimely demise has shocked the Indian entertainment industry, along with her sprawling fan base. Shefali Jariwala was formerly married to musician Harmeet Singh from Meet Bros, a marriage that lasted until divorce in 2009. She found love once more in 2015, marrying actor Parag Tyagi. In an interview a while back, she spoke about her battle with epilepsy since she was 15, explaining how stress and anxiety could trigger seizures. She had also long wished to adopt a desire she had spoken of publicly.
